Horsemanship Lessons

Most horse loving kids, and their parents do not know where to go or how to get started to learn about horses. So, we here at PLHDR created a fun and meaningful horsemanship program that teaches kids horsemanship skills and safe riding through our horsemanship lessons. We will teach your rider a solid horsemanship foundation in a fun, confident boosting, safe way. Each lesson starts with you catching, grooming, tacking up your special lesson horse! Learn how to communicate with our horse on the ground and while riding. Every session will end with the after care of your lesson horse. In cases where the weather is not favorable for riding, we will still do a dismounted lesson, working on other aspects of horsemanship, and horse husbandry, in our indoor venue.
Recommended for kids 5 and up as well as adults.

We provide you with the Horse and tack.
*No horse experience needed.

Horsemanship Lessons
Our horsemanship lessons are scheduled in your choice of sessions.
**Group Horsemanship Lessons are a 1-hour session at a cost of $30 per student with 2-5 students in the class. We require each student to sign up and prepay for four weeks at a cost of $120 + GST.
*** Private Horsemanship Lessons are a 1-hour session at a cost of $40 per student with 1 student in the class. We require the student to sign up and prepay for four weeks at a cost of $160 + GST.
****Drop In Horsemanship Lessons are a 1-hour session at a cost of $50 per student with 1-5 students in the class. There is no requirement for extended sign updates.
Pony Exposure
If you have a little horseperson between the ages of2- 5 years, PLHDR has a program for you, Pony Exposure!
Our little team of miniature horses are quiet and gentle. They provide to opportunity to learn about horses. Pony Exposure allows your little person to handle these little guys in a fun and less intimating way then the big horses. They can go from brushing, leading, to tacking up, to riding!
*Pony Exposure Lessons are $25 per 30-minute session per student with maximum 2 students in the class.
We require each student to sign up and prepay for four weeks at a cost of $100 + GST. Parent must attend all lessons.
We ask that you use a certified equine sport helmet and footwear with a 1-inch heel.
(We can provide certified equine helmets if you do not have your own)
Horsemanship Lessons are held every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings along with a few time slots available on Fridays.
All sessions start May 21 and go till September 27, 2024
